There is an old adage "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he'll eat forever." Old it may be but it doesn't make it any less true . Solving the homelessness problem has to be about more than simply giving people a roof over their heads. It has to be about giving homeless people skills, support and a social structure so that they can regain their self esteem, their dignity and their lives. | | The aim of Emmaus Hampshire is to help homeless people in the region get back on their feet by providing the self respect and confidence that go along with having a home, companionship, and worthwhile work |  | | The Green Roof Community Emmaus Hampshire has just started to build a "live/work" Community on the outskirts of Winchester and will provide former homeless and socially excluded people with a place to call home, a place to work and a place to start rebuilding their lives.
