“We all yearn deeply for community, for that web of connection and
support and that sense of belonging.” (Anita Roddick Oct 2007)
Welcome to the Emmaus Hampshire Community!
Our home
The Emmaus Hampshire Community provides formerly homeless people with a supportive environment in which to live, work and rebuild their lives. Companions, as residents are known, are given the support they need to enable them to regain control over their own lives and to help those less fortunate than themselves.
We accept donations of good quality, second-hand furniture and household goods for resale in our shops. The income generated will support the Community and, in time, others in greater need.
Emmaus Communities become self-supporting after a 2-3 year period, but £80,000 is still required to cover our early years' running costs. Joining our Friends scheme by giving a regular donation for will make all the difference.
Our ethos... helping those less fortunate than ourselves
At the Emmaus Hampshire Community we are committed to helping those less fortunate than ourselves - whether it's gifts of furniture or a helping hand to needy individuals and groups.
